"I was asked to draw ten thumbnail sketches of my outdoor surroundings of my home and then I had to develop them into collagesdrawings or paintings.

My first work for MPatch was a picture of outside of my house with a few characters in the drawing, I made it nice and colourful.

Overall, the final artworks were really good but I had a lot of problems finding the right materials, I found newspaper and magazine pages, I also had help of my family members for using scissors and glue sometimes.

I learned to use different techniques to create artworks by using collage, and next time I’m using collage, I’m going to find to find more materials and not just use pages of magazine and newspaper.

I have used pencils for sketching, any type of paints and markers for colouring, I used glue stick to stick down paper materials like newspaper and magazine pages  on A3 paper for my artworks."

"I started with a simple sketch on paper, just drawing a quick outline of what I'd want where before taking a photo and putting it on Procreate. Procreate is the drawing software I use which has many brushes, I stick to the same two or three for most of my art but I decide to try out some new ones.

I started with the fence, colouring it brown before going back in with different shades of brown and making small brush strokes like Eliseu Visconti did in 'This is Flowers". Then I moved on to the houses, drawing them in a simplistic style which was inspired by Hans Arp. Then I moved on to the sky which I coloured blue and went over with a darker blue to create a textured look. And to finish it off I drew clouds that were inspired by Man Ray's "This is La Fortune". I flat coloured them then added some shading with a different brush. "

"The two pieces I created were the street where I live. I made them during Lockdown and I found them both interesting when I looked out of the window and decided that I would use them to my advantage.

"The materials I used for my piece are: ribbon, sweet wrappers, wrapping paper, paper ribbon, cotton balls, string, old postcards. The size of my work was an A4 size of paper.

"The process of my work took me a couple of hours for each piece {there were two} they both had pretty much the same process, first I sketched the piece then I just added my chosen materials."
