Our ‘Spotlight on Our Past’ exhibition is an artistic response to an invitation from the National Trust Seascapes Project and Tyne and Wear Museums to visit both Souter lighthouse and Arbeia Roman fort.
Inspiration for the exhibition came from not only the dramatic visual aspects of these striking local landmarks but also from much reflection of their wider historical and cultural importance, as well as their relationship with our own individual family histories to produce an exhibition just as colourful and unique as our rich local heritage.
